Reviews
(1-25 of 32)SAP Lumira is for DATAphiles
- Recommended charts option will give you a quick overlook at your data
- Customization of the charts and graphs as per our needs
- The interface is user-friendly and there are videos to help you to navigate along in case you get lost
- Easy visualization, more detailed reports, good for presentation
- Manual data entry in LUMIRA
Lumira
- The software is good for charting data to present visualized information for current and upcoming ideas of business transactions and opportunities.
- Data sorting and charting for use with SAP and can be used by users to support data and visualize what is being highlighted.
- Value wise Lumira is a very simple and straightforward tool to use and is user friendly.
- There isn't a current way to publish information into the cloud.
- Limited data narrowing or crunching versus MS Office
SAP Lumira Software
- Easy to load data and use it. Sometimes we need technical help to create graphs but mostly it is easy once you learn.
- Support numerous kind of data source.
- Value for money.
- Need a proper training to use.
- Need to enhance integration with MS Excel.
- Limited functionality.
- Import of semi-structured data, logs.
- Filtering.
- Quick transformation of views from one type of graph to another.
- Export of results as a report.
- It is quick.
- We need OFFLINE viewing of data, to be able to save the reports to and iPad in HTML5 or similar format, and be able to go through the graphs with some level of interaction. I know it exports stories ... this is something more advanced.
- Conversion to time is not sufficient, it comprises only seconds, in the IT world mostly we work with milliseconds. Not a big deal, but can be pre-built.
- In case something is impossible to visualize, it simply says: "unable to show more than 10 000 values or similar". What about providing some suggestions on how to limit the scope?
- What about preparing some templates for analysis of e.g. IT logs, supply chain with some predefined reports, sourcing tasks, location based reports .... some simple building blocks, that can be further tailored.
- Currently working with SAP Lumira Discovery and the application keeps crashing by certain data sets and reports.
- Not very stable lately, it is a good idea to save regularly work in progress, not to lose the changes in case of a crash.
- A quick view on logs (or any other data) relating to time scale.
- A quick view on new data.
- For viewing and experimenting with HANA results.
- When we need to visualize sequences with start/stop e.g. it could visualize workflows, loops, or waiting times between steps.
- Also it can not merge several data sources in one (or the functions are hidden somewhere?)
SAP Lumira Still Not Ready for Primetime
- SAP has built in features you would expect from a data visualization package, like easy import from other SAP systems.
- SAP has most of the typical charts that you would expect in order to visualize your data.
- SAP allows you to have multiple charts on one visualization for your data.
- SAP is not as intuitive as other visualization software and you have to find an expert to show you how to do some of the simplest things.
- SAP is still working on the package so it is in constant change, and it makes 'learning' the software more difficult than it needs to be.
- SAP keeps renaming, re-merging, un-merging its systems so the 'Roadmap' they are so famous for is only valid for about 6 months!
Lumira 2.x is ready for Production
- Excelled connectivity to all SAP products like BW, HANA as well as to SAP's trademark SAP BO Universes.
- Cost effective and can be implemented with little technical effort. It is part of SAP Analytics enterprise license by SAP.
- Dashboards and applications are saved in BI launchpad I self so all security developed in SAP BI can be reused.
- Lumira could provide better charts
- Visualization in-memory engine must be improved
- Map analysis of Lumira needs significant upgrades to compete with market leaders like Tableau.
- Visualization
- alter data structures and correlations
- expanding the age reports involved in monthly reviews
- Should have Excel-like pivot table drill down features
- Integration with MS excel needs to enhance for importing data
- Output formats are bit rigid
- Limited functionality to manipulate data before reporting
SAP Lumira - Affordable and attractive
- Working with files (CSV, Excel).
- Ease of use, easy to start.
- Quick start videos are really helpful.
- Connecting to Micrsoft SQL Server requires JDBC drivers and add many steps.
- A cheaper web portal should be available.
SAP Lumira - A Useful Tool for Graphical Analysis and Reporting
- First advantage is that you can install SQL Drivers and further connect SQL with Lumira. This will help to use SQL query in order to import data into Lumira Directly.
- Advance Graphs are readily available for user, which can be used easily with a handsome knowledge of Statistics.
- You can also create different visualization and altogether put them along with each other. This will be created as a Story in Lumira which becomes a Presentation for the user.
- SAP Lumira provides a stage to connect to your SQL database. Customers have frequently asked us a question that why SQL query already saved in SAP Product such SAP B1 is not available in Lumira to be selected. That means customer wants to link SQL saved queries of SAP B1 with Lumira, but not manually to be copied and paste.
- Also the queries created and used in Lumira don't get saved, not if the user wants to run the same query for another time period. He needs to again do manual copy paste and create the same story, but cannot update the saved one.
- Also users look for some pre-designed examples readily available with Lumira Installation for their own reference.
Good for large data sets, room for improvement on visualizatoins
- Customer support
- Customizable
- Variety of visualizations
- User interface (rather complex and at times, hard to follow)
- Sharing options - would love to be able to export visualizations to other formats besides PDF
- Data entry / editing within the program
Less appropriate: Visually-driven, highly customized infographics
Simple yet powerful tool
We use it for visualization and analysis of our company's business, there by helping in decision making.
As we primarily work on Machine learning and data analytics application, it helps in that regard as well.
- Dashboard creation is very easy and does not require much coding expertise.
- Very easy to use and user friendly
- Excellent data analytics tool bundled with awesome visualization features
- Continuous updates with significant improvements to the tool
- The flexibility in sharing Lumira output lags behind its competitors
- No option to retrieve data directly from a website using OData service (URL)
- Variable manipulation is not allowed much unlike Tableau
Great for Extracting and Visualizing Massive Data
- This software is absolutely amazing because it is very easy to navigate, and the results are quite informative as they provide visual insights to generic databases.
- I used it to create multiple visual aids depicting the countries of origin of our graduate students, which helped us evaluate the effectiveness of international recruiting efforts.
- Finally, I utilized Lumira to prepare informative visual deliverable materials in order to illustrate the grade distribution among minority students.
- I wish the ZIP code mapping was incorporated in Lumira.
Best tool for visualization
I'm computer engineer and I think this program helped me a lot to improve my skills In BI, data mining, etc. This programs helps a lot to solve the problems.
- Easy to create dashboards without coding
- Allows [you to] select Excel, delimited, HANA, SQL, Oracle, column date, number format, etc.
- Can apply different filters to different visualizations, however compositions need to be changed.
- Sharing features like publishing to team, BI platform and before publishing giving rights like controlling whether the receiver is only to view or edit to collaborate.
- Make it more easy to use.
- Creating custom measure is a bit time consuming.
- No option to zoom in visualization room.
Great tool used for very basic needs.
- Beautiful visualization (including heatmap that can be hard to procude with other tools).
- It is very easy to prepare data for consumption.
- In general, ease to use.
- Sometime we would like to have more flexibility on the reporting capabilities.
- Lack of scripting capabilities. We would like to create some custom plugin / visualization that our collaborators might re-use.
LUMIRA - A Robust Reporting tool
- Report retrieval Speed is good
- Nice options to design the report with parameters (Single or Multiple)
- Easy to understand and use it
- Multiple Data source options for Report data
- Share Report Preview on Cloud
- Unable to change PIE Chart Colors
Lumira Review for the Average or Power User
- I love how Lumira allows connections to many leading industry OLE databases and data marts. It provides a much simpler way of performing reporting straight from the data source, opposed to connecting to a flat file or spreadsheet.
- The geo-overlaying and GIS capabilities of Lumira impressed me quite a bit. I thoroughly enjoyed playing around with the maps, and it was very useful for making insights into trends when the data was geodriven.
- The UI made for an incredibly easy learning experience. Any business end user can use this tool, with little to no assistance from IT.
- A little less ambiguity about certain functions may help. Perhaps when you hover over a button there could be a little info note that explains what the function does.
- Arranging the dashboards and labels with more independence would be nice!
Lumira ...........Almost there !
SAP BOBJ Lumira is being used enterprise wide.It is being used by the management for the most part.
The limitation we have with Lumira is that not all the features are available when we integrate in with SAP BW.
Microsoft Excel users are thrilled to have it as an input source.
- Lumira does very well with MS excel as input. Ease of use and additional features are impressive.
- ESRI map integration is one of the biggest strength.
- Integration with HANA and HADOOP is a big plus.
- Drill down feature apart from geo hierarchies will be much appreciated
- Integration with SAP BW can be improved greatly.
- Broadcasting storyboards with refresh capability is constantly being asked for in our organization.
It is not well suited for analysts who deals with big datasets.
Well suited for reports from different sources.
Well suited for management level reporting for a quick analysis.
- Data access to disparate data sources.
- Data mashup.
- Ability to explore the data on desktop and schedule the scenarios on the server side to refresh the data real-time.
- Trusted data.
- Extensive mobile device support.
- Add wow factors to data visualizations.
- Performance improvements.
- Native data acquisition capabilities.
- More SDK support to extend it.
Simple, Easy to use and Powerful tool
- SAP Lumira has very easy to use interface which makes it very easy to use and it is a big plus. Also, the tools for data alteration are appropriately placed and you need not drill down for simple options.
- Complete overview of the data on the PREPARE tab provides you with a very good overview of the data.
- Dashboards can be easily created.
- Dashboards can be easily created which are simple yet attaractive.
- Creating custom measures in SAP Lumira can be made a little more user-friendly.
- Automatically created measures by SAP Lumira can be made more appropriate.
- More sample report types can be added.
Lumira trial thoughts
- It's good as a data visualisation and investigation tool.
- Very simple and intuitive to use.
- It is far better than using products like Microsoft Excel for this purpose.
- There are constraints on the mechanisms used to import the data. For example, I was importing data from a .CSV file containing separate numeric and text representations of the date associated with the other data in the row. Lumira was unable to directly interpret these data as time & date fields without splitting the text information into individual columns.
- The data manipulation functionality for imported data could be improved, particularly the ability to create sub-columns derived from data already in the source table
Lumira beginners review
- Strengths are ease of use and no prior experience is necessary.
- Supports various data extensions such as Excel, CSV, etc.
- Some features were missing that I wanted.
- Filtering was not so easy.
Standalone Lumira as a BI tool
- Lumira is easy to install and configure.
- The extension technology works well, and it is easy to add new visualizations.
- Lumira's joining capability seems weak, but perhaps that is because I am used to MicroStrategy which is very strong in this department.
- Lumira can be unstable and crash from time to time.
- Lumira's performance sometimes feels slow.
Quick and Dirty Reports made easy with Lumira
- Self service reporting made easy. This is a fact and not just a slogan. We can get answers and truly follow the data down to the root cause in a manageable way.
- Quick. The reports are very quick to run.
- Great opportunities to slice and dice and get real insight that normally would have taken lots of work in Excel.
- Standard views should always have the description of objects as well. It is great to have the customer number but without the customer description it is harder to get all the value. It feels like we stopped when we could have gone the extra mile.
- Publishing a link to a SharePoint or other place where users can then easily access the data instead of first having to log into Lumira.
- % Share functionality.
- For quick and dirty query access it is a great tool.
- For more formatted reporting it is not the best.
- For quick answers and "throw away" queries it is fantastic.
Excellent so far!
- You can combine and seamlessly present inputs from flat files, Excel, SQL, BI, and other sources.
- I didn't take a class or read a tutorial, and had a quality, working visualization in a couple hours!
- It would be wonderful if this tool could publish to a native web format.
Project management Lumira
- Easy setup
- Good visualization functions
- Share concept
